Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has just filed a new motion to remove Speaker Mike Johnson, triggering another election year crisis for the Republican Party.
“Far-right Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., made good on her threat Wednesday and filed a motion to oust Republican Speaker Mike Johnson from power over his decision to pass billions of dollars in military aid for Ukraine.
She was booed by colleagues as she formally announced the effort on the House floor.
Johnson’s GOP allies are in a strong position to beat back Greene’s efforts given that Democratic leaders said on April 30 that their rank-and-file members will step in and vote to “table” or dismiss Greene’s motion to vacate the speaker’s chair.” [READ MORE]
